Inside a Styled Shoot at The Springs

Hey everyone! My name is Liv Liska and I’m the Social Media Marketing Specialist here at The Springs. This edition of The Springs Blog is going to be a bit different as I dive into what it’s like to model in a styled shoot at The Springs! Of course, every styled shoot will be a bit different depending on the host, vendors, theme, and photographers, but I had such a blast that I wanted to share my firsthand experience with the world!
When I first started working at The Springs, I was amazed by styled shoots. The whole process seemed like so much fun all the way from the planning and shoot day to seeing the final images! So, when Busy Bee Weddings reached out to us recently about hosting a styled shoot at our lovely Valley View venue, I was all over it! After a little planning from the vendor side of things, I was actually on the list to be a model!
I arrived at the venue at 8 am to start my hair and makeup. There were about 7 brides modeling, so it was a packed house in the bridal suite that morning! I was assigned a look that I like to call a whimsical Cinderella. I had a gorgeous tousled updo that looked AMAZING in photos and a unique pearl theme for my makeup. My hair and makeup paired perfectly with the gorgeous Millia London gown the planner had me wear. This gown covered me in blue tulle ruffles from head to toe. Seriously, I got to live a dream of being photographed in that stunning dress!
5 photo stations had decorations, but we ended up using every unique space that Valley View has to offer! Every corner of our venue was photographed at some point during the day! For example, in addition to the regular stations, I posed with the grand piano, on the staircase, on the romantic swing, by the water feature, and in both the bride and groom’s suites. This particular shoot ran in 30-minute time slots with each photographer. So, we would pair up and the photographers would take the models, pose us, and shoot for the allotted time.
The whole day was so much fun that modeling for 4 hours felt like 30 minutes! As a first-time model, every photographer made me feel so comfortable and at ease. This leads me to a great wedding tip; be sure to choose a photographer that you are comfortable with and will understand what you want out of your wedding day photos! Be sure that you can talk to them about your favorite angles of your body and face to get the best possible wedding day photos back!
Overall, this was such a great experience working with these lovely DFW vendors and photographers. Check out some of the incredible photos from this shoot and see all the vendor work in the gallery below! 😊
