charleston charm: the wedding of Brooke & Nich

Brooke and Nicholas’s April wedding at The Springs in Angleton’s Magnolia Manor was a graceful blend of Southern charm and springtime elegance. Set among lush gardens and timeless white architecture, their day radiated warmth, romance, and personal touches that reflected their journey together—from college sweethearts to husband and wife.

the proposal

Their story began at Texas A&M University at Galveston, where their friendship blossomed into something deeper. Years later, Nicholas planned the perfect proposal while celebrating Brooke’s nursing school graduation in Charleston, South Carolina.

“We went for a walk to see the sunrise in White Point Garden,” Brooke recalls. “He proposed under the gazebo—it was so early that we were the only ones in the park. It was perfect.” The moment was followed by a sunrise over the water, spontaneous travel adventures, and an unforgettable celebration that set the tone for their romantic, joy-filled relationship.

Nicholas put the same thought and care into choosing Brooke’s engagement ring. “It was exciting trying to pick out the perfect ring for a perfect bride,” he says. “One of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made.” He helped design a piece that was unique to them—timeless, meaningful, and completely her. Later, they returned together to select their wedding bands, turning that process into another cherished memory.

planning their best day

Once Nicholas and Brooke returned from their Charleston engagement, they wasted no time diving into wedding planning. With an April date in mind, their search for the perfect venue began early, and it didn’t take long to find it. “Magnolia Manor was actually the first venue we toured,” Brooke shares. “We knew right away it was perfect. The grand staircase, the light, the gardens—it reminded us so much of Charleston where we got engaged.”

From there, everything began to fall into place. Brooke found her dream Anne Barge gown at Elevated Bridal in Tyler after a last-minute appointment opened up, proof that the best moments often happen by chance. The couple worked closely with The Springs’ in-house coordination team to refine every detail, from catering and florals to music and décor. Their focus was simple: to create a day that felt timeless, personal, and true to who they are.

before the vows

The day began with a soft color palette of light pinks and blues that set the tone for the celebration. Brooke got ready alongside her bridesmaids before sharing a sweet first look with them, and as they watched quietly from a second story window, they exchanged private vows at the location in which they would soon bound those sacred words.

a moment in time

Under the oak trees and soft spring sunlight, Brooke and Nicholas exchanged “I do’s” surrounded by their family and friends. The setting was filled with light pink and blue florals that tied perfectly into their color palette and the season. A special moment from the ceremony that Brooke remembers fondly is when a lady bug landed on her veil and followed her inside—a small, sweet sign of good luck on their wedding day.

the celebration

The celebration continued inside Magnolia Manor, where guests enjoyed dinner, dancing, and heartfelt moments with the newlyweds. Brooke added personal touches throughout the space, including a handmade welcome sign and painted oyster shell place cards she created with her mom. The night was full of energy and laughter, especially during the grand march and Aggie War Hymn — two of the couple’s favorite memories from the day.

a word from the couple

The Josephs’ wedding day was filled with joy, love, and meaningful moments that reflected who they are as a couple. Looking back, Brooke shares, “Take in every moment of your wedding day as much as you can. There will be unexpected things, some that are perfect and others that don’t go as planned—but you’ll be resilient and make it work, just like in a marriage.” A day of celebration, laughter, and lasting memories, their wedding was a beautiful reminder that the most unforgettable moments come from simply being present.
