Wedding Date

How your wedding date affects your wedding

It’s the start of a new year, and with that comes a whole new crop of couples who are beginning their wedding planning journey! Before you take your deep dive into wedding planning, we wanted to pull back the curtain for you on how your wedding date will affect your wedding. We’re talking weather, photos, pricing; anything and everything that will be affected by the date you choose. Intentional wedding planning from the start can really help you plan for surprises you may encounter in the future!

Weather

We know we aren’t the first to tell you that the weather will be a large factor in choosing your wedding date. Why do you think fall and spring weddings are so popular?! Even though fall and spring weddings take the cake for your typical beautiful weather, winter and summer weddings are nothing to turn your nose up at.

No matter the season, the weather will always have an impact on your wedding day. At any venue you choose, normal environmental factors will occur. In the fall, the leaves will change color and drop from the trees, winter will have some barren trees and fewer blooms, spring will likely be rainy or unexpectedly cold, and summer will get HOT. To help navigate these decisions, sit down with your partner and decide what you envision for your wedding day. Make a list of your must-haves for your wedding day and imagine how the weather fits into that. Dreaming of a bright outdoor ceremony? Spring or Fall is probably for you! Do you love the elegant vibe of fur and velvet? You sound like a winter bride!

Loving the winter vibe but not the look of your typical winter landscape? Not to fear – The Springs has year-round full-time landscaping staff that keeps our venues looking picture-perfect for you! It helps that our venues were designed to handle (and look phenomenal in) all weather conditions.

We even have guides for you summer and winter wedding couples! These guides are full of our favorite tips and tricks to plan a seamless wedding day; no matter the weather! Check them out here!

Pricing

Any wedding venue that you go to tour is going to vary its pricing by date. Everyone’s breakdown is different but go into wedding planning knowing that some dates will be more expensive than others.

For example, at The Springs, we base our pricing around peak-wedding months. This means that our pricing is higher during specific months of the year, varying by location. So by booking a date in the non-peak months, you are already looking at some incredible discounts! Additionally, we vary the pricing by the day of the week. This is one of the many ways we try and help couples save some money on their wedding!

Photography

If your wedding photos are of utmost importance to you, consider this when you are choosing your wedding date. Seasonality, weather, and lighting are all affected by your wedding date.

For example, if your wedding date is during daylight savings time, you have an extra hour of sunlight in the evening to take portraits. Plus, who doesn’t love every second of golden hour?! Additionally, many photographers have more availability during the non-peak wedding months, the same as venues. This could even affect their pricing as well.
