Working in the wedding industry and being a 2022 bride, Kaity gave us some great tips that helped her plan her wedding, and shared some of her favorite parts of her wedding day with us!
When it comes to wedding planning here were some of her best tips:
“One of my biggest pieces of advice that I like to tell brides is – sit down and think about the non-negotiables that you want for your wedding. It can be literally anything! This will help with your budget, knowing what to splurge on and what you can save on. Have your fiancé do the same. Then go over it together, so y’all are on the same page. The photographer and videographer were my top non-negotiables. These two things are some of the only things you will have AFTER the wedding is over. Spend the money on them, you will not regret it!”
“Get vendors that your trust and vibe well with. I highly recommend a wedding planner or at least a day of coordinator. I used Treated Hearts Events, and my coordinator was Emily. She was wonderful! I was not worried or stressed one bit. I met up with her a couple of times before the wedding to go over vendors and where I wanted all my rental items and décor to be. Day of, I had Emily set up everything so that way I could enjoy the day getting ready and being with my mom + friends. To help make life easier on your planner, label your décor boxes. This will help your coordinator during set-up and during clean-up at the end of the night. List what item goes in what box and how many there should be. This helps everyone be more organized and will help prevent lost items!”
“It’s hard to pick my FAVORITE part of the night because there’s just so many. From showing up right at 9 am to leaving at 11:00 pm The Springs was truly so wonderful! However, I would recommend that when you get to your venue in the morning, walk around the venue again! It feels so different when it is YOUR wedding day. Seeing all the tables and chairs out, walking into that chapel, and seeing our cross up there on the altar. You get this feeling of surrealness. All those months or even years of planning are finally here! It’s a sweet moment to have.”
“We loved how we entered our reception! I let Layne pick the song he wanted us to be announced to; it was a song by Waka Flocka. We had our wedding party run in together and meet in the middle of the dance floor. Layne and I met them in the middle of the dancefloor while shooting off money guns! It was honestly so much fun to start by celebrating with the wedding party!”
“Layne’s favorite part of the day was to see everything I had planned come together and look fabulous! He was just happy to see me happy.”

People are always going to tell you their thoughts and options, but don’t listen to them! It’s going to stress you out and you might end up doing something you don’t even want to do.
