Sarah and Colin met in high school, where their paths crossed long before either of them imagined a wedding someday. In a detail that feels almost unbelievable now, Sarah actually went to homecoming with Colin’s best friend, the same friend who would later stand beside them as their officiant. Over the next eight years, their relationship grew through college, friendships and countless shared memories. When they chose The Springs Valley View for their wedding, it felt like the right place to gather all the people who had been part of their story from the beginning.
When Colin decided to propose, he brought their friends together for a Fourth of July weekend and told Sarah they were heading out to meet everyone for dinner. On the way, he took a detour to his parents’ land, where he had created a path of photos from their eight years together. At the end of it, under a tree surrounded by rose petals, he asked her to marry him. Sarah’s engagement ring was especially meaningful, passed down from Colin’s grandmother and reset using her original diamonds. Fireworks burst overhead as she said yes, and both families were gathered inside to surprise them with an engagement party.
After eight beautiful years together, the day has finally come. While the ladies slipped into their satin gowns, the guys relaxed around the pool table before heading to the chapel. From the sweet first look with dad and her bridesmaids, to the intimate moments during their private vows, Sarah & Colin beautifully set the tone for the special day ahead.
Officiated by a friends who’s been there since their beginning, the ceremony reflected their love in the simple black-and-white style Sarah and Colin envisioned from the start. They kept the space clean and timeless with ivory florals and small gold accents, letting Valley View’s natural beauty do most of the work. Sarah even created the bouquets herself and let her bridesmaids make theirs, adding a personal touch to the minimal design. One of the sweetest surprises of the day happened as she walked down the aisle. She expected her bridesmaids to get emotional, but seeing all of the groomsmen tear up too was something she didn’t anticipate and a moment she’ll never forget.

The reception had a relaxed, fun vibe. Guests played giant Connect Four and cornhole during cocktail hour, and later Sarah’s dad performed a song that everyone loved. Their first dance was still the moment that stood out most to them, but the Aggie groom’s cake, custom koozies and a surprise T-shirt toss added some really personal touches! When the day was over, Sarah and Colin didn’t dwell on the details. They just felt grateful. Their advice to anyone planning a wedding is to relax and enjoy it, because it really is all worth it.
